Asking In-Meeting Questions with the Zoom AI Companion

Important notes:

  • Use of Zoom's AI features is optional. The AI features are turned off by default. The meeting host must enable the AI Companion feature, either when the meeting starts or, if a summary is always wanted, in the Settings page at https://mchenrycc.zoom.us
  • Zoom states that it does not use any customer audio, video, chat, screen sharing, attachments, or other communications-like content (such as poll results, whiteboard, and reactions) to train Zoom’s or third-party AI models.
  • AI Companion answers may not be 100% accurate.

Meeting participants can ask questions about the content of the meeting when the AI Companion has been enabled for the meeting. This is useful especially when the participant has joined the meeting late. Preset questions include “Catch me up,” “Was my name mentioned?” and “What are the action items?” You can also ask custom questions.

To enable In-Meeting Questions for your Zoom account:

  1. Login to your Zoom account https://mchenrycc.zoom.us .
  2. Choose Settings in the left menu bar.
  3. Choose AI Companion.
  4. Enable the Meeting Questions with AI Companion by clicking the toggle button next to it.
  5. Additional options will appear for you to set.

To use this feature:

  1. Host starts the meeting.
  2. Host clicks AI Companion button and selects the group who can ask questions.
